Living with cancer and beyond cancer treatment

In Buckinghamshire, we want to ensure we are delivering the best possible care for our population – and to do that it is vital we hear from residents of the county who have experienced cancer treatment. Everyone’s experience of cancer is different. So for us to give the best possible care and support, we need you to help us understand what that looks like to you. You’re best placed to say what works, what can be improved and what specific cancer support should be available to you in the area. Whether you are currently undergoing treatment for cancer, or are now living after treatment, or even if you have watched a loved one go through cancer, please let us know your views by completing the survey below.

Health services in Buckinghamshire - shaping the future

Volunteer members of the public living in Buckinghamshire were asked for their views on the way healthcare services our managed in our community and what aspects of this are important to them. These preferred experiences or ‘outcomes’ were then developed into a framework. In the past, contracts for healthcare services often focused on activities rather than their consequences. In the future, contracts will put more emphasis on outcomes. Consequently, these outcomes will be used to help design services in the future and be used to measure how well service providers do their work, and the community will have a big say in judging that. The Outcomes Framework has been written by a small team of patient and public volunteers with relevant experience. It’s now reached the final draft stage, please see attached document. Your comments by the end of April 2018 would be much appreciated.
